Infected T-cells

Reconstructed cell data showing HIV infected T-cells interacting and infecting healthy T-cells. From work at the US National Library of Medicine in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute at the NIH.

The green T-cell is infected with HIV and seems to be signaling other cells to come sample its virus. Note the blue cell is pushing past the other nearby cells to get to the virus-filled cell.
